St. Luke School


Academics at a Glance

  • St. Luke students consistently score two grade levels higher than the national and archdiocese norms on the TerraNova and InView tests.  These tests are given to our 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th grade students each October.
  • 97% of our 8th grade graduates attend a Catholic high school.
  • Our newly completed computer lab is a state of the art center for all students to incorporate technology into their academic progress.
  • St. Luke students participate in an excellent fine arts program which stimulates creativity and produces well-rounded pupils.  Our students take part in school musicals and art shows on an annual basis.

Class Sizes

Kindergarten is limited to twenty-three students per session.  Enrollment in grade one is limited to twenty-eight students per homeroom.  Grades two through eight are limited to thirty-two students per homeroom.  St. Luke has no split grades.  There are two homerooms per grade.  Classes are also scheduled in the art room, music room, gym, computer lab, science lab, and the library.

Accreditation

St. Luke School follows the Graded Course of Study for Elementary Schools, which is provided by the Archdiocesan Office of Education.  This document contains the Philosophy of Education approved by the Archdiocesan Commission on Education and proceeds to the broad Program Philosophies, Program Goals, Program Objectives and Subject Objectives for each of the following areas of study: Religion, Art, Health, Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, and Music.  A copy of this document is on file in the office and is available for review by any parent/guardian.

St. Luke School meets or exceeds the Minimum Standards set by the Ohio State Department of Education.  St. Luke is an Accredited School with the Ohio Department of Education.  All teachers and administrators are Ohio certified.

Lunch Program

Hot lunches are available Monday through Friday for $2.25.



Extension

The Extension Program is an after-school care program designed primarily for those children who are unable to go home after school because their parents work.  The Program is provided by St. Luke Parish as a service to help parents provide quality care for their children after school hours.  The program is supervised by a director and three/four group leaders.

Hours: 2:55 p.m. until 5:45 p.m.
Fees One-time registration fee of $40 for 1 child
Second child (same family) $30
Third child (same family) $30
Rate $45.00 per week for full-time attendees
$80.00 per week for two children
$113.00 per week for three children
$10.00/day or $5.50/hour for part time (up to one hour)

Parent/Teacher Organization

The PTO is an important part of St. Luke School.  We depend on our much appreciated parent group for support both in and out of the classroom.  The St. Luke PTO is a very active, all-inclusive organization which works with our staff and students.  Our PTO is an ever-present help both fiinancially and spiritually.  Our parents are the best!!!!!!
