St. Luke Scrip Program
NEW! Online Scrip Purchase † Getting Started with ShopWithScrip.com † Shop With Scrip User Guide
The St. Luke Scrip program was initiated 10 years ago because it was a profitable fundraising opportunity for our school that did not require our children to sell door-to-door. Scrip certificates are essentially gift cards, which may be used as payment for goods in a large variety of local stores. This program earns thousands of dollars for St. Luke which goes directly to the operating budget of the school. Because each dollar used to purchase certificates returns as a dollar for you to spend, we hope you take full advantage of this program for all of your grocery, gas, restaurant and department store purchases.
Now You Can Order Scrips Online
Ordering scrip has never been easier! St. Luke School is now set up to accept scrip orders online. By participating in ShopWithScrip.com, St. Luke School now offers a selection of hundreds of scrip retailers. Follow the instructions in the Getting Started Guide and order online anytime. Orders will be collected and placed on the 15th of every month.
Scrip Around Town
Scrip Around Town FormScrip Around Town ("SAT") offers gift certificates to many popular retailers and national restaurant chains. Additionally, SAT offers gasoline and service gift cards. Many of the SAT gift cards are useful for your everyday purchases and for gift giving. St. Luke receives up to 20% profit when you purchase SAT gift cards. There are 2 ways to order:
- First, you can fill out the order forms that are sent home with the students at the beginning of each month. Just return it to the school office by the date specified on the form and your SAT order will be mailed directly to your home (or sent home with your child).
- Second, you can go to ShopWithScrip.com, set up an account and order online. This way is more efficient and accurate. You still need to print out your order and return it to school with your payment. However, your electronic order is already received and saves us much time. Not to mention, there are many more retailers available online. Follow the instructions in the Getting Started Guide and order online anytime. Please remember, the scrip program is run entirely by volunteers. The extra effort on your part by ordering online is greatly appreciated.

What is Scrip?
Scrip is simply a word that means "substitute money" - in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They're the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including Kroger, JCPenney, The Gap, Speedway, Donato's Pizza, Red Lobster and many, many others.
You're probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It's simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue. And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins:
- The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business
- You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling
- Our school gets a regular source of revenue.
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, and even dining out.
What are the possibilities for St. Luke School?
St. Luke School currently supports 250 families. What if 250 families supported St. Luke School through scrip?
Our 250 families would not spend any more than they currently do every day, every month, every year. But, the grocers, retailers, gas stations and restaurants which currently serve our 250 families would now donate a percentage of their profits to St. Luke School!
How much would our grocers, retailers, gas stations and restaurants be willing to donate to St. Luke School? If we take an average family's regular monthly expenses ($900) and look at the purchasing power represented within, 250 of those average families represent $225,000 per month or $2,700,000 each year. Local grocers, retailers, gas stations and restaurants are willing to donate $111,000 to St. Luke School if we are savvy enough to point them in that direction. They want to do it, they just need us to show them where to send the money!
| Average Monthly Per Family Expenditures | Projected Annual Per Family Donation | Projected Annual Organization Donation | |
| Groceries | $300.00 | $144.00 | $36,000.00 |
| Gasoline | $200.00 | $60.00 | $15,000.00 |
| Dining Out | $100.00 | $120.00 | $30,000.00 |
| Clothing | $100.00 | $72.00 | $18,000.00 |
| Home Repair / Improvement | $200.00 | $48.00 | $12,000.00 |
| Total Annual Estimated Donation to St. Luke School | $111,000.00 | ||
How realistic are these numbers? They are averages. Some families may spend less, some may spend more. As an example, many working people pack a daily lunch, but many spend up to $5 a day to go to Arby's, Boston Market, Burger King, KFC or Wendy's. If that person purchased $20 in scrips each month for each of these 5 restaurants, the same $100 per month would be spent, but St. Luke School would be receiving $8.80 each month or $105.60 each year from those restaurants.
Prayerfully consider supporting St. Luke School through the purchasing power of your normal monthly purchases!
